How to Disable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Need to switch back to password-only sign-in? We can help. Because 2FA protects sensitive account data, we have to confirm who’s making the request before we turn it off.

What you’ll need

Information

Purpose

Date of birth

Confirms the account holder’s personal profile

Last 4 digits of Social Security Number

Matches our records for a second piece of ID

Step-by-step

  1. Send us an email at support@gosteward.com from same email address used for your Steward account
  2. Subject line: “Disable 2FA request – [Your Full Name]”
  3. Body of the email:
Hi Support Team,

I’d like to disable 2FA on my account.

• Date of birth: MM/DD/YYYY
• Last 4 digits of SSN: XXXX

Thanks,
[Your Full Name]
  1. Our Support team will cross-check your details. If they match, we'll disable 2FA on our end and you will be notified by email

Keeping your account safe

  • Use a strong, unique password once 2FA is removed.
  • Consider re-enabling 2FA after resolving any issues that required the temporary disable.
